Ahoy there! WELCOME TO MY FIRST JOURNAL ENTRY. Nice. I’ve been playing around with codes, htmls and Neocities in general for a while. In fact, a friend of mine introduced it to me, gosh, in November or December? It’s been so lovely wandering and having a looky loo at all these wonderful websites and blogs. I wasn’t really able to be a part of the ‘old internet’, but having little places like this keeps its remnants alive. It’s kind of funny if I’m being honest, I feel like a lot of people who are at this awkward stage between being far from an older genz person or millennial, but also miles ahead of zoomers, might get what I mean. Adults often assume you don’t know how something like an older telephone works, or even what a DVD is?? Like just this week, my Mum and I were chatting and she was like, do you even know how to use an old telephone?? Granted, I haven’t used one before but, they use them right in the movies. You pick up the receiver, turn the dials to the right number, and blah blah call phone speak time. AND, my music teacher did a similar thing where they made just an off hand comment about how I wouldn’t know what a DVD is. MAN, I BINGED ALL THE BARBIE MOVIES ON DVD. I LIVED IN DVD. I WAS ONE WITH THE DVD. What did you mean I wouldn’t know what a DVD is? And, they’re a millennial too, so it isn’t just older people. I find it really interesting, honestly. Like, will I end up presuming younger people don’t know what coolmathgames is? Or what Vine is? Hummm, what do people talk about in journal entries…oh, I recently finished the book ‘Eragon’! It was really good honestly! It took me uh… *COUGH COUGH*... 2 years to finish… but it was worth it! Dragons are cool, what can I say? I really had a bit of whiplash honestly, because directly after my friend had given me this book called ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’, and I kid you not I couldn’t get past page 42. If you enjoy the book, that's wonderful, you do you, but I really found it a step down from high fantasy extremely dense lore and language use book aka Eragon, into a book where bro I don’t know what anything looks like, the characters, the setting, and the general movement of the book was WAYY too fast. It felt like it was literally rushing to get to the.. Alleged steamy parts. I found out it was THAT kinda book from looking at reviews LOL. Actually, it was again kind of interesting to see the difference in views from the reviews. People either gave one star and had similar views to mine, or gave 5 stars and called it super descriptive. I was confused! The descriptions, in my personal highly biased snobby opinion, were kind of terrible. I didn’t know what anything looked like. Although uh, I could guess a PARTICULAR part of the book was… descriptive instead. Probably that explains it actually. Anddddd, I also had a lot of tests this week? Part of me really regrets choosing all sciences as my subjects, especially considering I only need one to get into the university courses I’d like to enter. But at the same time, I THIRST FOR KNOWLEDGE! I LIKE KNOWING THIS STUFF. It helps me feel more grounded, ironically. Kinda like how religion for a lot of people explains the workings of the world. I was wandering the world, untethered to an idea or a proper concept of how things worked until I got to learn about proper chemistry and physics and biology. Hell, everything I’m learning could be completely wrong, but it does have more evidence than most things. And, even if we are using the wrong equation, somehow we manage to get the right answer. Gosh I wrote a lot. Be prepared for more… ANYWAY BYE!! .
